When the hens cooperate
A basket, the farmyard, the flock underfoot — eggs when the girls are laying well.

The Chickens
Our hens are part of everyday life at Rustin Farms — scratching through the farmyard, keeping us entertained, and giving us fresh eggs when they feel like cooperating.
The chickens are not a side project. They are underfoot in the yard, talking in the shade, following whoever is carrying the bucket.
Some are bold. Some keep their own counsel. All of them are part of how this little homestead actually runs — not a production house, a flock we live with.
Eggs from the farm
When they are laying well, we have a dozen. When they aren't, we don't. No online checkout, no promised inventory — send a note and we'll tell you what the week actually looks like.
Ask About Egg Availability

Days with the flock are ordinary on purpose. Nesting boxes, a broody hen who will not be reasoned with, the afternoon dust bath, the evening lock-up.
Seasons change the laying. Heat slows them down. A new girl finds her place in the order. Someone always has an opinion about the feed bucket.
